SMA ranks 10th in the Global 100 Index of the world’s most sustainable companies

Corporate Knights, a media and research company specializing in sustainability, has included SMA Solar Technology AG (SMA/ISIN: DE000A0DJ6J9/FWB: S92) in the renowned “100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World Index” (ticker: CKG100) for the first time. Corporate Knights has compiled the ranking annually since 2005 based on comprehensive research into the sustainability performance of companies and their products. In the Global 100 Index for 2024 published yesterday evening at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, SMA is ranked 10th overall and is the leader in both the industry and the peer group.

“We are very proud of our excellent ranking in the well-known Global 100 Index of the most sustainable companies,” said SMA CEO Jürgen Reinert. “The fact that Corporate Knights ranks SMA as one of the ten most sustainable companies in the world once again confirms that we are well on track to achieving our sustainability goals and making SMA a comprehensively sustainable company that plays a leading role in shaping a better future in line with our Strategy 2025.”

According to Corporate Knights, the Global 100 companies represent the top group worldwide in terms of sustainability performance. To compile the 2024 ranking, Corporate Knights assessed 6,733 global companies with annual sales of more than USD 1 billion on the basis of up to 25 quantitative sustainability indicators such as sustainable sales, sustainable investments, consideration of sustainability goals in management board remuneration, diversity in management and taxes paid. The key figures were weighted differently in order to reflect the impact profile of each sector individually.
