Iron Mountain document storage centre – 802kWh/kWp

Commercial PV power plant– United Kingdom, 2019

The first installation in a series of joint effort projects between Iron Mountain and Aniron using the Power Purchasing Agreement (PPA) model. The main challenge with this installation was the grid operator’s maximum AC export capacity, however by oversizing the array it allowed the installation of a 525kWp system. As document and data centres there are detailed technical and security needs, Aniron’s Sesh Diu says “The SMA inverter specification exceeded Iron Mountain’s very specific technical requirements and the support we receive from SMA is why we hold SMA as our primary choice for inverters.”
